About Latitude and Her Crew
Alex & Ellie
Greg and Dana are joined by Alex and Ellie, a fun-loving, totally professional, world-exploring couple.
Ellie hails from the Blue Hills of Australia where she was a dancer, gymnast, florist and expert in hospitality. She had a need to spread her wings and explore the world. This adventure is a new chapter in her story.
Alex is a lifelong sailor and seaman, having first sailed his own dinghy at the age of four. He holds an Unlimited Officer of the Watch ticket, has sailed 49’ers competitively for his native Great Britain and is a legitimately shredding kite surfer. He is Captain. But no pressure.
Greg & Dana
Greg and Dana have owned Oyster 625-06 Latitude since 2018 with full intention of riding this fine vessel to adventures and destinations known and unknown. They have spent the last five years preparing the yacht and their lives for this journey.
They are parents of four tremendous young adults and, when not plying the seas, Dana has a dual career as a custom travel designer (LeadExplorers) and a Senior Lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Business. Greg is retired, advises young executives and proudly holds both U.S. and British offshore mariner’s credentials. He is also supposed to stitch people up when they get hurt.

And What About the Boat?
First off, for details and pictures of Latitude above and below deck, click the link button in the footer of this page.
Most people ask, when we tell them we are spending 15 months on board the boat, “whoah, that’s going to be tight and uncomfortable. You think your marriage will last?”
We are not 100% sure about the marriage, but we are very sure Latitude is sea-worthy, comfortable and ready. She has lots of power from a diesel engine and generator that feed large battery banks that run freezers and refrigerators and air conditioners and satellite communications and advanced navigation electronics that make it feel like we are in a very safe and comfortable mobile adventure module.
And look at that comfy bed. What else do you need?
